Keyboardist Gregg Rolie, who had a hand in founding both the Santana Band and Journey revisits some of those band’s classic tunes on a new EP called Five Days.
Recorded in the living room of his Texas home on the piano given to him by his father many years ago, the record includes “Black Magic Woman”, “Anytime”, “Love Doesn’t Live Here Anymore”, “If I Went Home”, “Trouble In Mind” and “Cool Little Mama”.
After departing Santana in 1972, Rolie joined Journey to co-write and produce seven of their albums, through 1981′s double live set, Captured. He has since produced two additional Santana records, Shango and Freedom, released solo albums and worked with two bands, the Storm and Abraxas Pool (which included five other original Santana band members).
