One time Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord, who announced last year he will take a break from performing while being treated for cancer, has offered an update for his fans.

“Happy New Year to all of you and thank you so much for your wonderful, kind and inspirational messages over these last few difficult months,” Lord said on his website.

“I have been mightily sustained by reading them and will continue to be so. You are a very special lot indeed. I am doing well and I will be back with more news and updates in the next week or so. In the meantime, party hearty but look after yourselves.”

Lord closed by saying: “I wish you success and happiness, and above all I wish you health. God bless.”

If any Jon Lord fans here have a spare minute, please sign this petition http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/jon-lord-for-the-bbc-proms-2012/ to get Jon’s music featured at the Proms. Many thanks!
Durham Concerto, Boom Of The Tingling Strings, Concerto For Group & Orchestra, Sarabande, To Notice Such Things, Windows, Gemini Suite, From Darkness To Light, Beyond The Notes, Pictured Within and more – an evening of Jon Lord’s music at the Proms in the Royal Albert Hall seems long overdue!
