Best Sellers From The ’90′s: Bonnie Raitt’s “Luck of the Draw”
Bonnie Raitt - Luck of the Draw (Capitol, 1991)
Twenty years of recording plus her hard-won sobriety gave Bonnie Raitt a new sense confidence as she ventured into the late ’80s . Following the success of her Nick of Time album in 1989, Raitt rolled into the ’90s with her multi-platinum set, Luck of the Draw.

Wanting to ensure that Luck of the Draw was as successful the triple-platinum Nick of Time, Bonnie Raitt opted first for a creative retreat from the spotlight of her newly found commercial success.
Emerging from her time away from the stage with a handful of new songs, she re-enlisted Nick of Time producer Don Was and went about recording Luck of the Draw. With four self-penned songs on the set — including “One Part Be My Love” — Luck of the Draw was among her most personal albums of her career (and would prove to be her most successful).
Personnel-wise, it demonstrated that her long career had won her plenty of respect: guests included Kris Kristofferson, guitarist Robben Ford and keyboard banger Ian McLagan.
Luck of the Draw has sold over 7 million copies in the US since its release in 1991.
